On the morning of November 5, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development organized a seminar "Science and technology with water security, disaster reduction and climate change adaptation". Attending the seminar, there were experts, scientists, managers from ministries, especially delegates from the community of ASEAN countries, Japan, the World Bank (WB) and Phat Bank. development (ADB), Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) ...

With nearly 63% of 840 billion cubic meters of total water flowing from abroad, Vietnam is a country that has been, and will be, facing many challenges of water security for the socio-economic development process. The situation of degradation, depletion of surface water, underground water, lack of water, scarcity of water has become more and more common.

Competition for exploitation and use of water among industries, especially for agricultural production, is becoming more and more fierce, especially in the dry season. The decline of upstream forests, poor forest quality together with wasteful exploitation and use of water and low use efficiency have led to the failure to ensure the integrated and multi-purpose use in many areas and river basins.
